After applying in December 2023, Testbed Espaços de Dados-X signed the term of acceptance in January 2025, thus successfully completing a long process. ED-X is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) in its Component 16, “Companies 4.0”, in the Digital Transition dimension, in the measure “National Network of Test Beds”, by the Portuguese Republic and the European Union by the NextGenerationEU programme. It provides companies, particularly SMEs and Startups, with a distributed infrastructure for experimentation and testing, which allows the development of products and services in the area of Data Spaces in line with the Gaia-X and IDSA initiatives. ED-X is led by SOOMA and has Altice Labs, IP Telecom, NOS, TICE.PT and Vodafone as co-promoters and aims to achieve a total of 43 pilot products/services tested and validated by September 2025.
